Major Figures in American Music - approximately 300 interviews directly with the primary source. Ives Project -- interviews with sixty people who knew and worked with Charles Ives. Hindemith Project – seventy-five interviews with students, performers, colleagues, and friends of Hindemith. Steinway Project – one hundred and twenty interviews trace the history of Steinway & Sons through its years as a famiy business until its acquisition by CBS in 1972. Acquisitions –among acquired tapes are the Connor and Neff Blues Collection, WQXR Great Artists’ Series, Margaret Jory interviews with composers, and “Great Pianists Speak for Themselves: by Elyse Mach.
